If you love using soft neutral papers and scrappy ripped textures in your journals, then this is the pack for you!
This selection is full of gorgeous vintage and handmade ephemera including sewn paper and fabric elements. The pieces are perfect for layering and adding extra dimension to journal spreads, happy mail packages, scrapbooks and more! To top it off, the ephemera is packaged in a pocket tag that I made with kraft card, sari ribbon and tracing paper. The pocket has been entirely sewn together without the use of glue, so you don't have to worry about any adhesive deteriorating over time. A lot of love has gone in to making these packs and I hope you enjoy them as much as I do.
YOUR PACK WILL BE SENT AT RANDOM. While there may be similarities between different ephemera packs in my store, no two will ever be exactly the same. The listing photos are to serve as an example of what you will receive.
***DETAILS***
Your purchase will include:
- One A6 sized (105 × 148 mm) pocket tag/ folder with three pockets for storing ephemera
- Five sewn layered ephemera pieces, handmade by me with vintage paper and washi tape. The threads have been left un-trimmed for added texture
- One piece of A7 sized (74 × 105 mm) luxury handmade 100% New Zealand harakeke (flax) paper
- Two pieces of A7 sized (74 × 105 mm) luxury handmade paper pieces with recycled plant fibre inclusions
- Two blank mini kraft tags with scrappy fabric 'ribbon'
- One 33mm silver paperclip with sunflower charm
- One piece of 85mm long white modern daisy trim (equivalent to three daisies)
- 12 assorted text based or blank ephemera pieces, please see photos for an example. Most of this will be vintage with one - three modern pieces.
I do not make the handmade paper myself, it is sourced from a local NZ small business.
***WHAT TO EXPECT***
This is a handmade item put together by me in my studio, using both locally and internationally sourced materials. As is the nature of handmade items, there may be some small imperfections in the finished product.
I source my vintage ephemera from a range of items including dictionaries, novels, children's material, encyclopaedias', guide books, sewing patterns, music scores and more! I also source a range of different paper stocks such as glossy, textured and matte to add more variety to your pack(s). I do not use imitation vintage ephemera unless explicitly stated.
My entire vintage collection encompasses a huge date range, from 1890 - early 2000's. This means that some of the ephemera you receive will show signs of its age including foxing*, tears, marks and writing . I choose to include pieces with these 'imperfections' as I feel they are beautiful and tell a story all on their own. If you do not like these marks on your ephemera then this might not be the pack for you.
*Foxing (also known as age spots) is an age related process of deterioration in paper that is caused by the oxidization of chemicals or acids within the pulp from which the paper was made. Foxing does not affect the integrity of the paper and is safe to touch and use (rest assured is it NOT mould. Mould is usually white/black with a furry appearance and has a distinct unpleasant smell that is different from 'old book' smell).
